2026 Edition

Art. 1 – PRESENTATION AND SCHEDULE

Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, Atresmedia, and Sport Life Ibérica, in collaboration with the Hon. Madrid City Council, organize the 25th edition of the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon, to be held on March 22, 2026, starting at 9:15 AM on Paseo de Recoletos in Madrid.

A wheelchair division (excluding handbikes, which fall under the Cycling Federation) will be held over the same course, starting at 9:10 AM.

Note: Start and finish times and locations may change due to organizational requirements.

Art. 2 – COURSE

The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon course is 21.097 km long and is officially certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA). The race complies with World Athletics and RFEA road racing regulations and is included in the AIMS race calendar. The course will be monitored by the Municipal Police, mobility agents, and members of the organizing team. Each kilometer will be marked.

Art. 3 – PARTICIPATION

All individuals born in 2008 or earlier who are at least 18 years old on race day may participate, regardless of nationality, sex, or federation membership. Participants must register in accordance with the rules outlined in these regulations.

Art. 4 – TIME LIMIT

The maximum time to complete the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon is 3 hours from the start of the last wave.

Art. 5 – REGISTRATION

5.1 – DEADLINES AND FEES

Registration will be open until a maximum of 26,000 participants is reached, as per the following schedule:

  • First 2,000 entries or until May 12: €25
  • 2,001–5,000 or until June 30: €35
  • 5,001–9,000 or until September 30: €40
  • 9,001–15,000 or until November 1: €49
  • 15,001–20,000 or until January 7: €59
  • 20,001–25,000 or until February 15: €65
  • 25,001 and up or until March 8: €69
  • At the expo or waitlist: €80

Prices NOT INCLUDE a one-day license for accident insurance from RFEA (€3). Federated athletes with Madrid coverage will be refunded this amount when picking up their race bib.

Registrations include payment platform fees. Registration may close early if the 26,000-entry limit is reached.

Registrations made before February 23, 2026, will include the name entered in the “Bib Alias” field.

Cancellation and transfer policy:

Once registration is completed and the regulations accepted, no refunds will be issued unless the cancellation guarantee was purchased (€4). Conditions:

  • Before Feb 1: 100% refund or free transfer
  • Feb 1–28: 50% refund or free transfer
  • After Feb 28: No refund or transfer

The cancellation guarantee must be purchased at the time of registration and is non-refundable.

Transfers without a cancellation guarantee are accepted until Feb 28 at a cost of €5 or €10 at the Expo. Requests must be made via email to inscripciones@deporticket.com within the deadlines.

5.2 – REGISTRATION METHOD

Registration is only available through the official website: www.movistarmediomaratonmadrid.es and authorized platforms listed there.

5.3 – STARTING CORRALS

Runners must indicate their expected finish time at registration to be assigned to the correct corral.

To enter a corral for times under 1h30, runners must provide official race results from the last two years. Proof must be emailed to info@mediomaratonmadrid.es by March 1, 2026. Later entries are not guaranteed corral selection.

Corral changes can be requested at the Solutions Desk during bib pickup at the Expo with updated proof of time.

5.4 – OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

  • Registration is personal and non-transferable, except under the terms described in Article 5.
  • T-shirt sizes are chosen at registration. Size availability is not guaranteed.
  • No refunds under any circumstances (e.g. injury or work), unless cancellation guarantee was purchased.
  • Incomplete or incorrect registration data will invalidate the entry.

Art. 6 – CATEGORIES

Categories (male and female):

  • Absolute M / F
  • Sub20: Born in 2007–2008
  • Sub23: 2004–2006
  • Senior: Born in 2003 or earlier, up to 35
  • Master: Age-based, every 5 years from 35 to 85+
  • Wheelchair athletes M / F
  • Athletes with physical/intellectual disabilities M / F
    Note: Age is calculated as of race day.

Art. 7 – BIB-CHIP & OFFICIAL T-SHIRT PICK-UP

Bib-chip and T-shirt must be collected exclusively at the Expo (March 18, 20, 21). More info: https://www.mediomaratonmadrid.es/mm4-expo

Required: proof of registration (printed or digital), or a valid ID (DNI, passport, etc.).

For third-party pickup: an authorization and a copy of the runner’s ID are required.

  • T-shirts are given with bib-chip presentation only.
  • No size changes allowed.
  • No bibs or T-shirts will be distributed on race day.
  • The bib includes a disposable chip—do not fold or tamper with it.
  • The chip must be worn visibly on the chest for timing.

Art. 8 – MEDAL, TROPHIES, AND CASH PRIZES

8.1 – TROPHIES AND FINISHER MEDAL

All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Medal engraving with finish time is available for:

  • €7 during registration
  • €8 at bib pick-up
  • €10 on race day

Trophies awarded to the top 3 in each category (see Art. 6) once results are confirmed.

Unclaimed podium trophies can be picked up from AD Marathon Club offices (Calle Villaamil 65, Madrid, tel. 914026962) between March 30 and April 15. Shipping requests must be paid for by the recipient. Uncollected trophies are considered forfeited.

8.3 – CONDITIONS

  • No minimum time = prize is halved
  • National and AD Marathon prizes are cumulative with overall prizes
  • Course record bonus is cumulative
  • Identity must be verified to claim prizes
  • All cash prizes are subject to tax withholdings
  • Prizes will only be awarded once anti-doping results are published
  • Doping violations result in disqualification and loss of prize

Art. 9 – RACE CONTROL AND OFFICIATING

The race will be overseen by referees appointed by the Madrid and/or Spanish Athletics Federations.

Timing will use a chip system provided by the organizer—other chips will not be valid. Timing checkpoints at: start, km 5, km 10, km 15, and finish, plus secret checkpoints.

The head referee (RFEA) will resolve any technical matters not covered in this regulation.

Art. 10 – RESULTS AND CLAIMS

Provisional results will be published on the official website and app. Only RFEA officials may manage classifications.

Prize-related claims must be submitted in writing to the referee within 30 minutes of results posting.

Other claims must be submitted via email to info@mediomaratonmadrid.es, attention: Head Referee, no later than the Wednesday following the race.

Final decisions will be communicated within 10 days, after which classifications are final. Trophies and prizes remain provisional until that point.

Art. 11 – DISQUALIFICATIONS

Disqualification reasons:

  • Providing false registration data
  • Not completing the full course
  • Skipping timing checkpoints
  • Not wearing the bib visibly or modifying it
  • Using another runner’s bib or chip
  • Not following judge/organizer instructions
  • Copying or duplicating bibs
  • Refusing doping control
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct
  • Other violations per federation rules

The medical team and race referees may remove any runner in poor physical condition.

Art. 12. SERVICES OFFERED TO RUNNERS

AID STATIONS
There will be liquid aid stations located approximately at kilometers 5, 10, and 15, as well as both liquid and solid refreshments available at the finish line.

BAGGAGE STORAGE
Runners may use a free baggage storage service located at Plaza de Colón, where they can leave their belongings in a bag. The Organization will not be held responsible for any items deposited. This service will be available from 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 22.
Event staff may request to inspect the contents of any bag or backpack. Refusal to allow an inspection will result in denial of the storage service.

TOILETS
Portable toilets will be installed near the start and finish areas, and also after the finish line aid station.

PHOTO SERVICE
All participants will have the opportunity to purchase a professional photo package of their participation in the race.

INSURANCE
All participating runners are covered by civil liability and accident insurance, in accordance with current legislation.
The Organization declines all responsibility for any physical or moral damage that an athlete may cause to third parties during participation in the race.

PACERS
The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon will provide clearly identified pacers for the following target finish times (net): 1h20’, 1h25’, 1h30’, 1h35’, 1h40’, 1h45’, 1h50’, 1h55’, 2h, 2h05’, and 2h10’.

OFFICIAL APP
Runners, their families, friends, and the general public may download the Official Race App for free, available on Google Play and the App Store. The app allows real-time tracking of participants, bib lookup, and access to news, course information, race rules, and more.

VIDEOS
All participants will be able to download their finish line video free of charge from the official website in the days following the race.

OFFICIAL CERTIFICATE
The official race certificate, including general placement, age group category, official time, and average pace, will be available for free download from the official website in the hours following the race.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
The Organization provides the necessary medical services to assist runners during the event.
The Organization recommends that all participants undergo a medical check-up before the race, and all participants accept the inherent risks of the sport.
Any athlete with a medical condition must notify the Organization in advance and in writing, mark their bib number with a red cross, and include their name, address, phone number, and medical condition.

A physiotherapy and podiatry service will be available exclusively to runners who suffer an injury. Physiotherapy services may not be used for relaxing or recovery massages.

SWEEP VEHICLE
The Organization will provide a sweep vehicle for runners who choose not to continue or are forced to withdraw from the race.

Note: Some of these services may be affected by health regulations in force at the time of the event.

Art. 13. WHEELED DEVICES

The use of any type of wheeled device during the race is not permitted, except for wheelchairs (not handbikes) of disabled athletes officially registered in the wheelchair category, approved by the RFEA, and authorized by the Organization.
Running with baby strollers, dogs, or any type of pet is not allowed. In case of an accident, insurance will not cover the incident, and any medical and/or legal costs, claims, or compensations will be the sole responsibility of the person who caused the incident.

Art. 14. AUTHORIZED VEHICLES

The race course is closed to all vehicles. Only those vehicles accredited by the Organization may follow the race.
It is strictly forbidden to follow the runners in any type of motorized or wheeled vehicle (e.g., skates, bicycles, etc.).

Art. 15. ACCEPTANCE OF REGULATIONS

All participants, by registering, accept these regulations as well as the rules of the RFEA, FMA, WA, and AIMS.
They also consent to the Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, either directly or through third-party entities contracted for data processing, using their personal data and images (photographs, videos, etc.) solely for sporting, promotional, or commercial purposes related to the race.

In compliance with current data protection laws, participants are informed that their personal data and official race photos will be added to a file owned by the Agrupación Deportiva Marathon (G78026150), the event organizer, for use exclusively for the purposes requested in the registration form. Participants may exercise their right to access, rectify, or delete all or part of their data by sending a request via email to admarathon@admarathon.es, along with a photocopy of their ID.

In the event of any doubt or unforeseen circumstance, the Organization's criteria will prevail.
