2020 Edition


Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, Atresmedia and Motorpress Ibérica in collaboration with the City Council of Madrid organizes the 20th edition of the Movistar Half Marathon of Madrid. The event starts the 4th October 2020 at 09.15 h. With start and finish line of the race at the Paseo del Prado.

In the same place of start and finish will be held, at 9:10 am, the wheelchair disabled, on the same route of the half marathon.

Note: The schedule and the location of start and finish line might change due to organizational requirements.

Section 2.- ROUTE

The Movistar Half Marathon circuit in Madrid measures 21.097 km and is approved by the RFEA. This race is carried out under the WA and RFEA road racing regulations and is integrated into the AIMS racing calendar. The route will be controlled and monitored by the City Police and members of the Organization and marked in its entirety by a blue line. In addition, each kilometer will be marked vertically and horizontally.

Everyone, federated or not, without distinction of sex or nationality. Registrations will be admitted for participants who were born in 20002 or before. With previous inscription (in time and in the terms established for it).


The maximum time to carry out the Movistar Half Marathon of Madrid is 3h.



Registrations can be made from 3rd May 2019, for a maximum of 25,000 participants, and according to the following deadlines and registration prices:

  • From 3rd May to 30th November 2019: € 20.70
  • From 1st December 2019 to 29th February 2020: € 23.70
  • From 1st March to 30th September 2020 (until 12 noon): €26.70
  • EXPO registration (2nd and 3rd October 2020): € 50

*Those runners who does not possess the corresponding federative license will have to add a cost of 3€ to the previous prices, as a day license.

Cancellation insurance:

Every participant can contract this insurance, which ensures the refund of 100% of the registration amount or the change of ownership until 20th September 2020. From 21st to 28th September, it will be only possible to change the registration for the 2021 edition. After that date, the entries will be considered definitive.

At the time of registration, the runner must indicate the estimated mark to be made, in order to access the box corresponding to his/her time on the starting straight and avoid crowding as much as possible.

For access to boxes with a time of less than 1h 24' it will also be necessary to attach, during the registration process, the diploma accrediting the mark carried out in an official homologated race in the last two years and corresponding to the time of the drawer in which you wish to take the start.


  • The inscription is personal and non-transferable and supposes the total acceptance of the present regulation.
  • Under no circumstances, once the registration is formalized, the participation can be transferred to another person.
  • The sizes of the t-shirts will be delivered in strict order of collection of the dorsal-chip and according to the size requested at the time of registration. The Organization does not guarantee to be able to deliver to all participants the requested size of t-shirt, since for different reasons of organization the production of the t-shirts is carried out with a date prior to the closing date of the inscriptions.
  • Registrations will be closed before the established deadlines if all the available places, 25,000 numbers, are covered.
  • The registration fee will not be refunded under any circumstances, including injuries or work reasons.
  • Registrations that do not have the correct identification data will not be considered admissible: ID (except for foreigners), name, surname, date of birth, sex.

Section 6. - CATEGORIES

  • Sub 20 M / F: Born in 2001 and 2002 (18 years old on the day of the race)
  • Sub 23 M / F: Born from 1998 to 2000
  • Senior M / F: Born in 1997 and up to Veteran (35 years old people)
  • Masters M 35 / F 35: From 35 to 39 years old
  • Masters M 40 / F 40: From 40 to 44 years old
  • Masters M 45 / F 45: From 45 to 49 years old
  • Masters M 50 / F 50: From 50 to 54 years old
  • Masters M 55 / F 55: From 55 to 59 years old
  • Masters M 60 / F 60: From 60 to 64 years old
  • Masters M 65 / F 65: From 65 to 69 years old
  • Masters M 70 / F 70: From 70 to 74 years old
  • Masters M 75 / F 75: From 75 to 79 years old
  • Masters M 80 / F 80: From 80 to 85 years old
  • Masters M 85 / F 85: Older than 85 years old
  • Absolute M / F: Includes all the previous categories.

Note: All the indicated ages must be on the day of the race.


The removal of the dorsal-chip and official t-shirt will take place exclusively at the Feria del Corredor on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd October, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. uninterruptedly.

In order to collect the dorsal-chip, runners will have to present the receipt or copy of the inscription, together with their ID, passport or other official document accrediting their identity.

The t-shirt will be delivered upon presentation of the dorsal-chip.

Note: Soon we will announce the place where the Expo will be held.


  • The size of the t-shirts will be delivered by strict order of request in the delivery of the dorsal-chip. Runners may not ask for a size other than the one requested at the time of registration.
  • The organization does not guarantee that it will be able to give all runners the size requested at the time of registration, due to the fact that production takes place prior to the closing of registrations.
  • Numbers and T-shirts will not be delivered on the day of the race.
  • The bibs have a disposable chip, so they can not be bent or manipulated or altered in any way, including advertising.
  • The race time will only be recorded if the dorsal-chip is correctly placed on the front of the body.



Athletes registered will be given when arriving to the finish line a commemorative medal. The first three female and male athletes from each category will be given a trophy.


Additionally, the following prizes are established for the very first athletes but it would be compulsory to reach the race time requested in brackets:

There will be special cumulative prizes to A.D. Marathon Athletes:

  • If the athletes do not achieve the required minimum mark, the cash prize will be reduced by half.
  • The exclusive prizes of the national athletes can be added to those of the absolute general classification.
  • The ADM athletes' prizes are cumulative with the rest of the prizes.
  • The prize for the half marathon record will only be awarded to the winner and will be cumulative with the rest of the prizes.
  • It will be essential to present a document that accredits the identity in order to collect the prizes.
  • All cash prizes are subject to the withholdings established by law and the recognition of the mark by the RFEA.
  • Participants who obtain cash prizes and who have had to carry out doping control, will not be charged until the results are in the possession of the Organization.


The control of the race will be carried out by the judges appointed by the Madrid Athletics Federation.

The time will be measured by means of a computer system and chip, provided by the Organization and no other chips will be valid than the one provided. There will be time control points at the start, 10 km and finish line. The Organization keeps the possibility of locating more control points during the route.

The Judge Referee will be appointed by the RFEA to solve any technical issue, interpreting the rules of the test. In what is not provide by these regulations, the IAAF rules will be taken into account.


The rankings will be published on a board set up by the Organisation next to the finishing area and podium, these being the sole and exclusive competence of the members of the Judges Committee of the RFEA. They will also be published later on the official website.

Claims affecting positions in the prize money classification shall be submitted in writing to the Referee Judge within a maximum period of 30 minutes from the publication of the classifications, who will deal with the claim.

Other claims must be sent in writing to the Organisation's e-mail address, for the attention of the Referee Judge, before the Wednesday following the event.

The Organisation will communicate the decisions of the Judge-Referee within a maximum period of 10 days, after which the classifications will be considered definitive. Therefore, all trophies and prizes will be provisional until that time.


The medical assistance team of the race and the referees will be entitled to take participants out of the race if:

  • The athlete is in a bad physical condition.
  • The athlete who does not complete the race course.
  • The athlete whose race number is not visible, folded or manipulated with advertisement or the athlete is running without race number.
  • The athlete is wearing a photocopied race number of this Edition or any other Madrid Half Marathon or even a race number of any other race.
  • The athlete's behaviour is unsporting or the athlete expresses repeatedly protests against the Organization despite the aforementioned exposed in the terms of participation.
  • Provide fake data in the inscription (name, surname, age...).
  • Do not go through the controls located in the circuit.
  • Not to wear a clearly visible number on the chest or to alter or hide the advertising of the same.
  • Run with the number and/or chip assigned to another runner.
  • Failure to heed the instructions of the judges and/or staff of the Organization.
  • Refuse to pass doping control.



The race will have liquid refreshment at kilometre 5, plus liquid and solid refreshment at kilometre 10, 15 and at the finish line.


The runners will be able to use a free cloakroom service next to the start and finish area where they can leave their belongings, and the Organization will not be responsible for the delivered objects. The service will be available from 7:30 a.m. on Sunday 4th October until the arrival of the last classified runner.

The staff of the organization may request the opening of the bag to check its contents. Refusal will result in rejection of the bag.


There will be chemical baths at kilometre 11 of the half marathon, as well as at the start and finish areas of both races.


All runners taking part in the Movistar Half Marathon in Madrid are covered by civil liability insurance and accident insurance in accordance with current legislation.

The Organisation declines all responsibility for any physical or moral damage that an athlete may cause to himself or to third parties during participation in the event.


The Movistar Half Marathon in Madrid will have three correctly identified Pacemakers for each of the following times: 1h 25', 1h 30', 1h 35', 1h 40', 1h 45', 1h 50', 1h 55', 2h, 2h 05' and 2h 10'.


Runners, their families, friends and the general public can download for free the Official App of the race, available in Google Play and App Store, from where you can follow in real time the participants of the half marathon, check the number or keep informed of everything that happens around the race: latest news, route, rules ...


The video of arrival at the finish line and the summary of the race, made from different points of the circuit, can be downloaded completely free of charge from the official website, from the following Monday to the celebration of the race.


The official diploma, which shows the general position, by category, the official time and the average rhythm, will also be available for download, free of charge and through the official website, from the following Monday to the celebration of the race.


The Organization has the necessary medical services to attend to the runner during the development of the race.

The Organization recommends all participants to undergo a medical examination prior to the race, accepting all participants the risk arising from the sporting activity.

Any athlete with health problems is obliged to notify the Organization beforehand and in writing, mark his dorsal with a red cross and state his name, address, telephone number and health problem he suffers.

A physiotherapy and podiatry service may be provided, which will be used exclusively for runners who have suffered any type of injury. The physiotherapy service will not be used, in any case, as a relaxing massage or discharge.


The Organization will have a broom car to be used by runners who does not want to continue the race or who are forced to abandon.


It is not allowed to use any device or gadget rolled during the race, except the chairs of disabled athletes in wheelchairs, approved by the RFEA and officially admitted by the Organization.

Participants in wheelchairs must wear an approved helmet.


The track is closed to all vehicles. The only vehicles that will be able to follow the race will be those accredited by the Organization.

It is totally forbidden to follow the runners in any type of motor vehicle or on wheels (skates, bicycles, etc...).


All participants, by registering, accept these regulations and the rules of the RFEA, FMA, IAAF and AIMS. In addition, they give their consent for Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, by itself or through third parties to whom it is entrusted by virtue of a treatment contract, to process their personal data, as well as their image within the competition, by means of photographs, videos, etc., exclusively for sporting, promotional or commercial purposes.

For the effects foreseen in current Law, on the protection of personal data, you are informed that the personal data and official photographs of the Movistar Half Marathon of Madrid will be incorporated into a file owned by the Agrupación Deportiva Marathon (G78026150), organizer of the event, with the aim of using them solely and exclusively for the purposes requested.

The participant may exercise their right of access to these files in order to rectify or cancel partially or totally its content. To exercise this right must apply by mail to, attaching a photocopy of ID.

In case of doubt before any circumstance that could arise, the criteria of the Organization will prevail.
