2024 Edition

Section 1. - PRESENTATION AND SCHEDULE

The Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, Atresmedia and SPORT LIFE IBÉRICA, in collaboration with the City Council of Madrid, organizes the 23nd edition of the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon, to be held on April 7, 2024, starting at 9:15 a.m. on Paseo de la Castellana and finishing on Paseo de Recoletos in the city of Madrid.

On the same route, the modality for people with disabilities in wheelchairs will be held, starting at 9:14 a.m.

Note: The times and location of departure and arrival may vary due to organizational requirements.

Section 2. - ROUTE

The Movistar Half Marathon circuit in Madrid measures 21.097 km and is approved by the RFEA. This race is carried out under the WA and RFEA road racing regulations and is integrated into the AIMS racing calendar. The route will be controlled and monitored by the City Police and members of the Organization and marked in its entirety by a blue line. In addition, each kilometer will be marked vertically and horizontally

FINISH LINE: Paseo de Recoletos, 12 (pasado el cruce de la calle Prim)

Section 3. - PARTICIPANTS

All people who wish to run, born in 2006 and previous years, may participate, whether they are federated or not and without distinction of sex or nationality.  To do this, they must have registered correctly, according to the regulations set forth in these regulations.

Section 4. - CLOSURE OF THE RACE

The maximum time to complete the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon is 3 hours from the official start.

Section 5. - REGISTRATIONS

5.1.- DEADLINES AND PRICES

Registrations can be made up to a maximum of 20,000 participants, and according to the following terms and prices:

  • Till July 31st: € 20
  • From May 1st to June 15th 2023: € 30
  • From June 16th to September 30th 2023: € 35
  • From October 1st 2023 to February 29th 2024: € 40
  • From March 1st to March 27th 2024 (close registrations): € 45
  • EXPO registration (April 5th and 6th, 2024): € 65

*Those runners who does not possess the corresponding federative license will have to add a cost of € 3 to the previous prices, as a day license.

Cancellation insurance:

Once the registration is formalized, the amount will not be refunded in any case, but a cancellation insurance or change of ownership of the number is offered, at a cost of € 4 per registration, under the following terms:

Refund of 100% of the registration fee or changes without added cost until February 29, 2024. In registrations made from March 1 to 27, only the change will be allowed for this race in its 2025 edition. After that date, entries will be considered final.

Registrations made in the first term, being a launch offer, will not have the possibility of contracting cancellation insurance.

The cancellation guarantee can only be contracted at the time of registration.

The amount of the cancellation guarantee is not refundable in any case.

Changes of ownership will not be accepted in any case, except at the Runner's Fair, as an exceptional measure, paying €5 at the time of making the change.

Cancellation requests must be made through the email inscripciones@deporticket.com within the indicated periods.

5.2.- REGISTRATION FORMS

Registrations can only be made through the official website, www.movistarmediomaratonmadrid.es and through the registration portal en.deporticket.com.

5.3.- DEPARTURE IN PREFERENTIAL BOX

At the time of registration, the runner must indicate the estimated mark to be made, in order to access the box corresponding to his/her time on the starting straight and thus achieve a more fluid start for all.

For access to boxes with a time of less than 1h 30' it will also be necessary to attach, during the registration process, the diploma accrediting the mark carried out in an official homologated race in the last two years and corresponding to the time of the drawer in which you wish to take the start. This info must be sent to info@mediomaratonmadrid.es before 27th March.

In case of having a later official mark, a change of drawer can be requested at the incident counter in the collection of numbers.

5.4.- CONDITIONS

  • Registration is personal and non-transferable and implies full acceptance of these regulations.
  • Once the registration is formalized, the participation cannot be transferred to another person;  except for those who have contracted cancellation insurance and under its conditions.
  • The shirts will be delivered according to the size requested at the time of registration.  The Organization does not guarantee to be able to deliver to all the participants the requested t-shirt size, since the beginning of the production of the t-shirts takes place on dates long before the closing of the inscriptions.
  • The registration fee will not be refunded under any circumstances, including injuries or work-related reasons, except for those who have contracted the cancellation and change of conditions insurance and under its conditions.
  • Registrations that do not have the correct identification data will not be considered admissible: ID (except for foreigners), name, surname, date of birth, sex.

  • U20 M / F: Born in 2005 and 2006
  • U23 M / F: Born from 2002 to 2004
  • Senior M / F: Born from 2001 to 35 years old
  • Masters M 35 / F 35: From 35 to 39 years old
  • Masters M 40 / F 40: From 40 to 44 years old
  • Masters M 45 / F 45: From 45 to 49 years old
  • Masters M 50 / F 50: From 50 to 54 years old
  • Masters M 55 / F 55: From 55 to 59 years old
  • Masters M 60 / F 60: From 60 to 64 years old
  • Masters M 65 / F 65: From 65 to 69 years old
  • Masters M 70 / F 70: From 70 to 74 years old
  • Masters M 75 / F 75: From 75 to 79 years old
  • Masters M 80 / F 80: From 80 to 85 years old
  • Masters M 85 / F 85: Older than 85 years old
  • Absolute M / F: Includes all categories of each gender.
  • Athlete with a disability in a wheelchair M / F
  • Athlete with Physical / Intellectual Disability M / F

Note: All the indicated ages must be fulfilled on the day of the race.

Section 7.- WITHDRAWAL OF DORSAL-CHIP AND OFFICIAL T SHIRT

The removal of the dorsal-chip and official t-shirt will take place exclusively at the Feria del Corredor on April 4th, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on April 5th and 6th from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Distrito Telefónica. Avda. Ronda de la Comunicación, s/n. Edificio Servicios, planta 1 Madrid. Metro: Ronda de la Comunicación Station, Line 10.

In order to collect the dorsal-chip, runners will have to present the receipt or copy of the registration, together with their ID, passport or other official document that proves the identity.

The t-shirt will be delivered upon presentation of the dorsal-chip.

In case of not being able to pick up the dorsal-chip in person, an authorization must be made to the person who is going to pick it up, presenting a photocopy of the ID of the person registered in the dorsal-chip pick-up.

Important:

  • The size of the t-shirts will be delivered by strict order of request in the delivery of the dorsal-chip. Runners may not ask for a size other than the one requested at the time of registration.
  • The organization does not guarantee that it will be able to deliver to all runners the size requested at the time of registration, because the production is carried out long before the closing of registrations.
  • Numbers and T-shirts will not be delivered on the day of the race.
  • The bibs have a disposable chip, so they can not be bent or manipulated or altered in any way, including advertising.
  • The race time will only be recorded if the dorsal-chip is correctly placed on the front of the body.

Section 8.- TROPHIES AND PRIZES

8.1.- TROPHIES

All runners who reach the finish line will receive a medal as a reminder of their participation in the race. The first three female and male athletes from each category will be given a trophy.

8.2.- CASH PRIZE

Additionally, the following prizes are established for the very first athletes but it would be compulsory to reach the race time requested I n brackets:

8.3.- CONSIDERATIONS

  • If the athletes do not achieve the required minimum mark, the cash prize will be reduced by half.
  • The exclusive prizes of the national athletes can be added to those of the absolute general classification.
  • The ADM athletes' prizes are cumulative with the rest of the prizes.
  • The prize for the half marathon record will only be awarded to the winner and will be cumulative with the rest of the prizes.
  • It will be essential to present a document proving the identity in order to collect the prizes.
  • All cash prizes are subject to the withholdings established by law and the recognition of the mark by the RFEA.
  • The prizes for the general, national and event record classification will not be paid until the results of the anti-doping control are published.
  • If a winner tested positive he would be disqualified and will be left without a prize, and the classification would run that position.

Section 9.- CONTROL OF THE RACE AND JUDGES

The control of the race will be carried out by the judges appointed by the Madrid Athletics Federation.

The time will be measured by means of a computer system and chip, provided by the Organization and no other chips will be valid than the one provided. There will be time control points at the start, 10 km and finish line. The Organization keeps the possibility of locating more control points during the route.

The Judge Referee will be appointed by the RFEA to solve any technical issue, interpreting the rules of the test. In matters not provided for by these regulations, the IAAF rules will be followed.

Section 10.- PUBLICATION OF RANKINGS AND CLAIMS

The rankings will be published on a board set up by the Organisation next to the finishing area and podium, these being the sole and exclusive competence of the members of the Judges Committee of the RFEA. They will also be published later on the official website.

Claims affecting positions in the prize money classification shall be submitted in writing to the Referee Judge within a maximum period of 30 minutes from the publication of the classifications, who will deal with the claim.

Other claims must be sent in writing to the Organisation's e-mail address admarathon@admarathon.es, to the attention of the Referee Judge, before the Wednesday following the event.

The Organisation will communicate the decisions of the Judge-Referee within a maximum period of 10 days, after which the classifications will be considered definitive. Therefore, all trophies and awards will be provisional until then.

Section 11.- DISQUALIFICATIONS

Will be grounds for disqualification:

  • Provide false personal information in the registration (name, surname, age...).
  • Not completing the full race.
  • Do not go through the checkpoints located in the circuit.
  • Not wearing the bib clearly visible on the chest or altering or hiding its advertising.
  • Running with the bib-number and/or chip assigned to another runner.
  • Failure follow the instructions of the judges and/or staff of the Organization.
  • Wearing a photocopied race number of this Edition or any other Madrid Half Marathon or even a race number of any other race.
  • Refusal to pass doping control.
  • Wearing race number not visible, folded or manipulated with advertisement or running without race number.
  • Unsporting behaviour or protesting repeatedly against the Organization despite the aforementioned exposed in the terms of participation.
  • Being in a bad physical condition.

Section 12.- SERVICES OFFERED TO RUNNERS

PROVISIONING

The race will have liquid supplies at kilometer points 5, 10 and 15, as well as liquid and solid supplies at the finish line.

CLOAKROOM

Runners will be able to use a free cloakroom service next to the start and finish (Plaza de Colón) area where they can leave their belongings, and the Organization will not be responsible for the delivered objects. The service will be available from 7:30 a.m. on Sunday until the arrival of the last classified runner.

The staff of the organization may request the opening of the bag to check its contents content. Refusal will result in rejection of the bag.

TOILETS

Chemical toilets will be installed in Plaza de Colón, and on the side walks of Paseo de la Castellana (on both sides) from Plaza de Colón up to 50 meters before the start. And also after the finish line refreshment.

PHOTO SERVICE

All participants who wish may acquire photographs of their participation in the test.

INSURANCE

All participating runners are covered by civil liability and accident insurance, in accordance with current legislation.

The Organisation declines all responsibility for physical or moral damage that an athlete may cause to himself or to third parties during participation in the event.

PACEMAKER

The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon will have three correctly identified Pacemakers for each of the following times: 1h 25', 1h 30', 1h 35', 1h 40', 1h 45', 1h 50', 1h 55', 2h, 2h 05' and 2h 10'.

OFFICIAL APP

Runners, their families, friends and the general public can download the Official App of the race for free, available in Google Play and App Store, from where they can follow the participants of the half marathon in real time, check the number or keep informed of everything that happens around the race: latest news, route, regulations ...

VIDEO

The video of arrival at the finish line and the summary of the race, made from different points of the circuit, can be downloaded completely free of charge from the official website, from the following Monday after the celebration of the race.

OFFICIAL DIPLOMA

The official diploma, which shows the general position, by category, the official time and the average pace, will also be available for download, free of charge and through the official website, from the following Monday after the celebration of the race.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

The Organization has the necessary medical services to attend to the runner during the development of the race.

The Organization recommends that all participants undergo a medical examination prior to the race, accepting all participants the risk arising from the sporting activity.

Any athlete with health problems is obliged to notify the Organization in advance and in writing, mark their number with a red cross and state their name, address, telephone number and health problem on it.

A physiotherapy and podiatry service will be available, which will be for the exclusive use of runners who have suffered some type of injury. The physiotherapy service will not be used, in any case, as a relaxing or discharge massage.

“BROOM CAR”

The Organization will have a broom car to be used by runners who do not want to continue the race or who are forced to leave.

Section 13.- EQUIPMENT AND ROLLING DEVICES

The use of any wheeled device or contraption is not allowed during the race, except the wheelchairs of disabled athletes registered in the wheelchair category, approved by the RFEA and officially admitted by the Organization.

Participants in wheelchairs must wear an approved helmet.

Section 14.- AUTHORIZED VEHICLES

The circuit is closed to all vehicles. The only vehicles that can follow the race will be those accredited by the Organization.

It is totally forbidden to follow the runners in any type of motor vehicle or on wheels (skates, bicycles, etc...).

Section 15.  ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

All participants, by registering, accept these regulations and the rules of the RFEA, FMA, IAAF and AIMS. In addition, they give their consent for Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, by itself or through third parties to whom it is entrusted by virtue of a treatment contract, to process their personal data, as well as their image within the competition, by means of photographs, videos, etc., exclusively for sporting, promotional or commercial purposes.

For the purposes of current legislation on the protection of personal data, you are informed that the personal data and official photographs of the Movistar Half Marathon of Madrid will be incorporated into a file owned by the Agrupación Deportiva Marathon (G78026150), organizer of the event, in order to use them solely and exclusively for the purposes requested in the registration form.

The participant may exercise their right of access to these files in order to rectify or partially or totally cancel its content. To exercise this right, you must request it by mail to admarathon@admarathon.es, attaching a photocopy of your ID.

In case of doubt in any circumstance that may arise, the criteria of the Organization will prevail.
