Movistar Madrid Medio Maratón 2024 unveils its date: April 7th and opens registrations!

The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon and the ProFuturo Race will return to the Madrid sports calendar on April 7th, 2024 and it is already possible to register at special promotional prices on the website www.movistarmadridmediomaraton.es and www.carrerafundacionprofuturo.com for both the 21,097m competition and for the 5.8km ProFuturo charity race, which will be held in parallel. In the 2023 edition both races attracted 19,000 runners between the two events.
The renewed and monumental route through the centre of Madrid, which has been so well received by popular and elite runners, will be maintained, and the objective will be to continue growing and improving the services and attention to all participants.
In the last edition of the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon, top athletes achieved good results. Kenyan Hyllary Kipkoech stood out, and in addition to winning, achieved a great time under one hour (59:56), and was very close to his personal best. In the women's category, Ethiopia's Zewditu Aderaw Gelaw crossed the finish line in 1h07:38 to get a brilliant victory.
The ProFuturo Race, which is held in parallel to the half marathon, was a great sporting and solidarity festival in 2023 over 5.8 kilometres in which some 2,000 runners took part, and raised more than 19,000 €, which will be donated to the digital education programme with which Fundación Telefónica and Fundación "la Caixa" contribute to closing the educational gap in isolated environments and at risk of exclusion in 45 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia. Abel Antón, Chema Martínez, the triathlete Javier Gómez Noya and the Paralympic athlete Lorenzo Albaladejo, considered the best athlete with cerebral palsy in the history of Spain in sprint events, completed the race this year.
