The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon 2025 will beat its participation record and already exceeds 20,000 runners
The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon on 6 April will be a historic edition and will beat its record of participants. With less than 3 months to go before it is held, it has already surpassed 20,000 registered runners and there are only 4,000 more bibs available. In this way, this half marathon will also consolidate itself as the one with the highest participation in the Community of Madrid, with a percentage of foreigners of around 30% in its starting list, and with a female participation that increases every year and that will also be close to one out of every three runners.
Already in the last edition of 2024 the 21,000 bibs available in advance were sold out, and although for this 2025 the limit has been increased to 24,000, it is very likely that the registration process will also be closed in a few weeks.
The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon has also improved its route in the last editions showing the most monumental part of the Spanish capital and offering a route with the minimum possible slope so that runners can make good times, proving that in Madrid it is also possible to run very fast, as confirmed by the records set by Ronald Kiprotich in 2021 (59:38) and Winfridah Moraa Moseti in 2022 (1h07:22).
The ProFuturo 5km race, which will also be held in parallel on 6 April, is on track to beat its record number of participants, with almost a thousand registered runners. This event has united sport and solidarity since its creation in 2016, and aims to promote the cause of ProFuturo, which brings educational innovation with technology to the most vulnerable schools in the world, an initiative promoted by Fundación Telefónica and Fundación ‘la Caixa’...
The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon is the fastest half marathon in the city, awarded the ‘Road Race Label’ by the international federation World Athletics, which includes it in its official calendar of road races, and was named by the Madrid City Council as an ‘event of general interest for the city’, as it is one of the most emblematic and traditional races in the country.
The race is organised by the Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, Atresmedia and Sport Life Ibérica, with the main sponsorship of Movistar and with the institutional support of the Madrid City Council and the Community of Madrid. Joma Sport is the technical sponsor.
