The Movistar Madrid Medio Maraton 2025 is sold oud and reaches 24,000 runners for the first time ever

For the first time in its history, the Movistar Madrid Medio Marathon will have 24,000 participants and has sold out the slots for its next edition on 6 April. The organisers have opened a waiting list on their website (www.movistarmadridmediomaraton.es). There are still bibs available for the ProFuturo Race, which will be held in parallel on the same day over a distance of 5 kilometres and for which there are already more than 1,000 participants registered.

In 2024, the 21,000 bibs available in advance were also sold out. For 2025, the number of participants has grown to 3,000, with a record 30% of women, and the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon is one of the three half marathons with the highest participation in Spain and one of the most popular in Europe. The growth of the race has been steady in recent years, and this year there will be participants from up to 60 different nationalities, which also represent 28% of the total number of registered participants. Great Britain and France will contribute some 2,000 runners.

The 5km ProFuturo Race, which will also be held in parallel on 6 April, will probably also beat its record number of participants and is an ideal distance for those who are just starting out in running or for half marathon runners. This event has united sport and solidarity since its creation in 2016, and aims to promote the cause of ProFuturo, which brings educational innovation with technology to the most vulnerable schools in the world, an initiative promoted by Fundación Telefónica and the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation.
